Extraction fails due to there being no space on the drive (enospc), but the cached download is kept. 2.2.10 will be a regular release. Whenever vscode makes a new version available, it prompts you to go to the website and manually download the deb package.

Whenever an extension updates, vscode simply downloads it again and creates a new folder in the extensions folder with the new version, leaving the old version on the folder as well which takes up unnecessary space. Besides new features, typescript 2.0.3 contains many bug fixes. It will download the corresponding d.ts files into your workspace.
